Kylie was sleeping soundly in the fork of a tree while the beginning of dawn broke. She heard a sound. “What was that?”
She thought as large trees fell. A tree fell right in front of her, it spooked little Kylie as she scrambled towards safety. She hit the road as speeding cars were flying by. She crossed the road a little before... EEEEE!!! A red car had stopped right in front of her. Two people slowly stumbled towards her. Kylie curled up into a ball. She was frightened. The humans stumbled closer!
Bam! Crackle! A crackling fire started licking up trees and swallowing leaves. The smoke became thicker and enveloped the cars. Everyone went back but the two humans had picked Kylie and placed her in a basket covered with a blanket. The humans drove so quick but the fire was catching up. There was a junction, cars everywhere. They drove into the middle of traffic and sped to a vet.
The vet had checked frightened Kylie everywhere for burns and injuries. “Phew, this koala is lucky she didn’t get burnt from the fire. Good job rescuing her. Maybe you should start a Save the Koalas business.” the vet had said to Kylie’s rescuers. “Maybe,” muttered the humans quietly. The vet fed Kylie some juicy eucalyptus leaves which was what they ate in the wild even though they were poisonous to us, Kylie could digest it.
After that the humans started a campaign dedicated to Save Koalas! Thousands of people started to donate and plant trees all because they felt that it was their need to help koalas. You can help in those ways too, you know!
